Cillian Kirwan posted 1:46.93 for sixth place at the Andujar international in Spain on Friday night. Kirwan moved to seventh in the all-time Irish rankings last weekend in Belfast, produced another good performance in a race won by Ryan Clarke of the Netherlands in 1:45.74. Kieran Kelly landed the national 5k road race title for the second time in the phoenix park winning out in 14 minutes 30 seconds. Kelly had some four seconds to spare on second placed Colm Rooney of Clonliffe. Niamh Fogarty Sets New Club Record

Niamh Fogarty set a new women’s discus club record on May ninth in Ballerup, Denmark. Fogarty threw a best of 56.49 meters to finish third. An event won by Lis Brix Pedersen in 59.25 with Emma Ljunberg second with a best of 57.21m. Fogarty improved her club record by 0.48 metres, the second time in 2024 that Fogarty has broken her own record.

Martin wins in Santa Monica Hyland Third in Tereneure

Damien Martin produced a surprise when he won the Santa Moncia 15k on Sunday clocking 63 minutes. While James Hyland took a very impressive third place at the Terenure 5 Mile posting 24 minutes 53 seconds. Peter Somba won out in 24:40 with Conor Duffy second in 24:46.
