National Cross Country Round-Up

A tough day at the national cross country championships in Rosapenna, Co. Donegal, the first time since 2014 that the championships took place outside Dublin. Kate Purcell in 28th place led the women’s team home to eighth place. Purcell was joined by Lucy Barrett 46th, Aisling Ahern 45 and Zoe Quinn 58th. Fay Takes NCAA 13th Place

It was lucky number 13 for Brian Fay in the NCAA cross country championship in Stilwater, Oklahoma. Fay followed up his west regional title with a 13th-place finish, earning his second-straight cross country All-America honour. Women’s Team Take National Marathon Silver

The Raheny Shamrock senior women’s team took national marathon silver at last month’s Dublin marathon. The team of Kate Purcell, Fiona Stack and Aine Crimin clocked 8:55.19 behind Donore Harriers but better than Clonmel to take silver.
