Bermingham secures Leinster Crown

Conor Bermingham added another gold medal to his bulging tally this time claiming Leinster championship gold in Tullamore. Bermingham vaulted to gold with a best of four metres winning gold on count back from St Laurance O’Toole’s Matthew Callinan Keenan. Freddy Keron Sittuk took second place at the SSE Airtricity Walled City Marathon in Derry posting 2:26.14 behind Dan Tanui who won out in 2:25.26. At the Irish Examiner Cork City Marathon Dermot Gorman was first Raheny man home in 2:50:45 with Gerard Mullins posting 3:25:40. Smyth wins Schools Double

Mark Smyth wrote himself into the history books in Tullamore as he claimed the 100/200 metre double at the Irish Life Health All Ireland Schools. Smyth was slow out of the blocks in the 100 metres, though quickly clawed back the ground he lost on Presentation Athenry’s Cillin Greene.
