Kevin Dooney became the 11th Raheny Shamrock athlete to compete at the World Cross Country championship on Saturday. Dooney finished 105th in the ultra-competitive World Cross Country on an un-forgiving course in Aahrus, Denmark. Sean Tobin was the other Irish athlete competing who finished 62nd.
Annette Kealy Wins World Masters Cross Country Title
Annette Kealy landed the World Masters W50 Cross country title in Torun Poland on Monday. Kealy finished second overall in the race, behind Great Britain’s Clare Elms, Elms was racing in the W55 category. Congratulations to Annette who won World Masters silver in the 10K road race last year. Elsewhere Kate Cronin won the Wicklow Way 25.5K hill. Dooney Gets World Cross Country Call
Kevin Dooney has been selected for the 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Aarhus. This will be Dooney’s first time to compete in the World Cross Country championship and the first time an Irish male will compete at these championships since 2008.
