Winter League Round 8

Mick Traynor was the winner of Round 8 of the Winter League. Mick won in a time of 10:21 with Donal Foley second in 10:23 and Paul Cowhie third in 10:25. Helen Carr was winner of the women’s race in 12:40, with Elaine McNulty second in 13:25 and Deirdre Fitzsimons third in 13:37.

National Indoors

Kieran Kelly was the club’s top performer on Day 2 of the National Senior Indoor Championhships. Kieran finished second in the 800 in 1:52:23, ending a 5 year wait for another National individual medal and caps off a brilliant indoor season. Scallan sets indoor record

Susan Scallan was the clubs top performer on day 1 of the National Indoor Championships, setting a new club record in the 400m. Running in heat 1, Susan ran 55.66 to qualify for tomorrow’s final and break her indoor record she set last week. Aisling Drumgoole also qualified for tomorrow’s final, running 57.26 in heat 3. Clohisey improves marathon time

It was a great day for the club, with athletes setting pb’s and club records. Mick Clohisey ran the Seville in hopes to improve his marathon time in the lead up to the Olympics. Mick finished in 10th overall in 2:15:10, bettering his pb from Berlin by 27 seconds. The result also moves Mick up to second fastest qualifier in the marathon ahead of selection in the Olympic games. On…
