On Wednesday night Niamh Kearney won the BMC Women’s 3,000 metres indoors A Race in Lee Valley. Kearney posted 9:25.27 for victory some three seconds clear of Alex Barbour who posted 9:28.57 for second place. At the national 50km road race in Doneda Colm Cassidy took 16th place in three hours 28 minutes and 26 seconds. Gavin Judge posted 4:43.25, a very well done to both Colm and Gav.

Brian Fay set a new club indoor 3,000 metre record last night clocking 7:40:09 at the World Athletics Indoor Tour Meet in Boston on Sunday night. Zoe Quinn brought the Raheny Shamrock victories to Spain on Saturday when winning the Torremolinos 5K. Brian Kelly was the first Raheny man home in the 5K posting 20:27. In the Torremolinos Half Marathon Quinn clocked 87 minutes nine seconds to take victory. With Tara Kennedy posting 88:09 and Mary Walsh 91:34.
