Kate Purcell won the women’s race in the Lusk 4 Mile clocking an impressive 22 minutes 20 seconds. Purcell had some 16 seconds to spare on Trim’s Edel Gaffney. Sophie Becker helped Ireland to fifth place in the 4x400m relay final at the European Indoor Championships. Becker exploded from the blocks to claim a great position at the break and handed over to Sharlene Mawdsley in fifth place. Becker’s split was 53.70 seconds.
