Niamh Kearney set a new club 1500m at the British Milers Club meet in Belfast. Kearney took third place in four minutes 17.89 seconds with DSD’s Eimear Maher winning out in 4:13.33 and Finn Valley’s Ciara Laverty second in 4:16.38. Sophie Becker, Niamh Fogarty, Brian Fay, Eric Favors and Michael Farrelly have all been named on the Irish team for the European team championships. It is a first senior international call-up for Farrelly as he is named in the 4x100m squad.
