Atkins Makes A Masters Silver Lining

Adrienne Atkins landed silver and bronze at the national master’s track and field championships in Tullamore on Sunday. Atkins landed silver in the 800 metre M4 category clocking two minutes 36.32 seconds just 10 seconds behind gold medallist Anne Gilshinan of Menapians. Men win in Kilcock Woods third in Clontarf

The senior men’s claimed victory at the St. Coca’s 5K in Kilcock, Kildare on Friday night. Mark Kirwan made his return since injuring his collar bone in the national road relays to take fourth place in 15 minutes eight seconds. The race was won by Clonliffe’s Ian Guiden in 14:38. Ian Conroy was just five seconds behind Kirwan in fifth place with Freddy Sittuk four seconds and one place behind Conroy….

Mary Purdue-Smyth landed the Michael Murphy 5 Mile Memorial Race on Thursday evening. Purdue-Smyth clocked 38 minutes 27 seconds in the sealed handicap race held as part of the Clonliffe Grand Prix series. Des Kennedy took second place in the BHAA 5K trial race which took place on Tuesday evening.
