Mark Smyth landed the 100/200 double at the Leinster Schools track and field championships in Morton Stadium on Saturday. Smyth broke the tape in the 100 metres in 10.97, two tenths of a second ahead of David McDonnell of CBS Wexford. Brian Fay landed the Leinster Schools Senior Boys 2,000 metre steeplechase on a balmy afternoon in Morton Stadium. Belvedere College student Fay, showed a turn of pace to move away from silver medallist Philip Marron of Ratoath College coming home for victory in six minutes 11 point 31 seconds.
