Ian Conroy landed European Masters Mountain Running Silver lands Sunday in Monte Scanto Portugal.
Conroy finished in fourth place overall, just 44 seconds behind race winner Spain’s Alberto Gonzalez Gonzalez with Conroy taking silver in the over 35 category.
Conroy also helped Ireland to second place in the over 35 category with Jason Kehoe and our old friend Brian O’Murchu landing the silver medals just 10 minutes behind Spain.
It was a good day for Ireland with Gerard Maloney taking over 55 gold and Rebecca Quinn taking over 40 silver.
Congratulations to Ian and all the Irish team, Ian undoubtedly the most successful mountain runner in the club’s history.
