A large contingent travelled to London this weekend and took part in the scenic Bushy Park, Parkrun, the birthplace of park run in Great Britain and Ireland.
It look likes things went very much to plan from a professional bunch of athlete’s who put aside over indulegence on Friday evening to perform well in South West London.
Damien Martin took fourth place in 17 minutes 16 seconds a very respectable time as this would have been Damien’s first run over the course.
Damien was followed home by Adrienne Atkins 20:36, Dave Gargan 21:15, Des Lyons 22:12, Mary Lynch 22:27, Rachel Ormrod 22:50, Nora Byrne 23:14.
Ann-Marie Gargan 23:18, Kate Martin 23:28, Brendan Atkins 24:02, Caroline Farrelly 24:20, Sinead Lyons 26:17. Also competing was Shane McDemott one of the first competitors in the Bushy Park, parkrun.
Shane moved to London in 2002 and is based on the doorstep of the park, having previously being a course record holder for the event.
Meanwhile Mick Clohisey blasted around St. Annes Park in a sharp 14 minutes 46 seconds for a very convincing victory on his first Parkrun outing.
Mick Boyle took third place in 16:46 with Eamon Traynor seventh in 18:10 and Conall Murphy eighth in 18:16.
Other finishers in St.Annes were Tom Loftus 18:37, Dean Keogh 18:39, Caitriona Costello 20:39, Dave Feeney 20:58, Nicola Mooney 21:42, Conor Jennings 21:58.
Gillian Kenny 22:15, Robbie Beggs 23:04, Amanda Langan 23:41, Maia Moore 25:08, Richie O’Connor 24:47, Una Cherry 25:31, Mark McComish 25:32 and Anne McComish 29:26.
Annette Kealy finished in third place in Malahide in 18 minutes 18 seconds where Steven Rowe posted 23:12 and Deirdre O’Dwyer clocked 28:52.
Alan Foley won out in Fr Collins Park clocking 18 and five seconds.
