The Tommy Lynam Two Mile – Mid Summer Road Race takes place on Sunday at 11am.
This race is held in honour of our former president Tommy Lynam who passed away in 2008, Tommy had been club president since 2003 until his passing.
Tommy had a prestigious career in master’s athletics gaining a number of Dublin and national medals at various distances.
Tommy also held a number of positions on the club committee including two spells as chairperson before his election to President.
The race is also part of the Lord Mayor of Raheny Summer series and is the only fixture in the series outside the 8pm Tuesday fixture list. This race is open to everyone.
The Entry fee is €7 or €50 for the series, a total of a further 13 races.
Furthermore, our next door neighbours Raheny Scouts are holding a Bake Sale from 10am to 2pm on Sunday. The scouts are fund raising ahead of a trip to Denmark.
