The First round of the National Track & Field League got underway today with our men’s and women’s teams based in Tallaght.
Full results are not yet available, though the men’s team finished in third place in their pool, behind Clonliffe Harriers and Finn Valley.
The men’s team saw wins for Kieran Kelly in the 1500 metres, Freddy Sittuk 3,000 metre Steeplechase, Eoin Strutt 5,000 metres and Colm Bourke long jump
Conor Bermingham and Dylan Kirwan took second place in the pole vault and 400 metre hurdles respectively.
There were fourth place finishes for Sean O’Driscoll over 200 metres, Sean Dowling 100m and Simon Devenney in the 5,000 metre walk.
fifth place finishes for Dan Scully 800 metres, Matt Cotter triple jump and Kevin Byrne high jump.
Mick Hynes took sixth place in the hammer for distance and seventh in the shot put
While Jamie Sheridan finished sixth over 400 metres with Liam Sheehan seventh in the discus and Simon Devenney seventh in the javelin.
The 4×400 metre relay team took third place and the 4×100 metre team were fourth.
The Women’s team finished in third place overall in their pool behind Dundrum South Dublin and Kildare County.
