Clohisey 2nd in Swansea Half

Mick Clohisey returned to form, finishing second at the Cardiff Half Marathon.

London 2017 bound Clohisey clocked 65 minutes 33 seconds for second place behind local athlete Dewi Griffiths who clocked 64 minutes 48 seconds.

Sean Hehir was third over the line a full 63 seconds behind Clohisey.

At home, on Saturday Freddy Sittuk took third place in the Dunshaughlin 10K posting 31 minutes six seconds, the race was won by Clonliffe’s Sergiu Ciobanu in 30 minutes 12 seconds.

Ian Conroy took sixth place in 31 minutes 47 seconds with Wes O’Brien posting 33:48 and Declan Robinson 36:56 which saw the men’s team take second place in the team prizes.

Other finishers were Dave Grange 37:15, Mark McComish 37:20, Patrick Philips 40:09, Seamus Rooney 41:02, Ollie Power 44:24 and Angela Charlton 50:24.

Tommy Crampton completed the Gael Force West 67K in five hours 17 minutes.

On Friday night Simon Ryan took third place in the Drogheda and District 5K posting 16:09.
