Women’s Race – Team Bronze

Raheny Shamrock AC’s women produced a superb team display at the Dublin Novice Cross-Country Championships in Phoenix Park on Sunday, 4 October 2026, earning bronze over 4km. Led by a top-ten finish from Hannah Shackley, Raheny packed four scorers into the first 22 and reinforced that medal-winning quartet with seven more finishers inside the published top 50.

Bronze built on disciplined packing

Hannah Shackley set the tone with an excellent eighth-place finish in 14:13. Megan Roberts followed in 17th in 14:34, with Ruth Comerford close behind in 19th in 14:40. Triona Nic Dhonaill then brought the scoring home in 22nd, recording 14:57. Their placings totalled 66 points and secured third place behind Dundrum South Dublin and Clonliffe Harriers.

The medal was built on disciplined packing. Only 14 finishing places and 44 seconds separated Raheny’s first and fourth scorers, whose average time was 14:36. Just as importantly, Treasa Wall arrived only 16 seconds after the fourth scorer, giving the team valuable cover. In championship cross-country, where every place changes the score, that combination of front-end quality and close support is exactly what turns a strong run into a podium result.

Depth beyond the scoring four

The performance also highlighted the depth of Raheny’s women’s squad. Treasa Wall and Mary Walsh both finished inside the top 30, followed by Sorcha Delargy in 30th. Aoife Brennan, Clodagh Foley and Muireann Browne then crossed the line within an 11-second window, while Seona O’Keeffe completed Raheny’s eleven finishers in the published top 50. From the first Raheny athlete home to the eleventh, the spread was just 2:01—a notably compact club showing across the field.

Congratulations to Hannah, Megan, Ruth and Triona on winning team bronze, and to all eleven Raheny athletes whose collective performance made this such a memorable championship outing. A podium finish supported by this level of depth is an encouraging early-season marker—and a strong platform for the cross-country races ahead.
With Adam Condon crowned individual champion, the men taking team bronze and the women also earning third place, Raheny Shamrock AC left Phoenix Park with a superb championship return. Across both races, the results reflected front-running quality, committed scoring packs and impressive club depth.
