Sophie Becker has been selected for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games in the 4x400m mixed relay.
Becker is set to become the fifth Raheny Shamrock athlete to compete at the Olympic Games following Pat Hooper (Moscow 1980), Dick Hooper (Moscow 1980, Los Angeles 1984, Seoul 1988), Paddy McGrath (Atlanta 1996) and Mick Clohisey (Rio 2016).
Becker played a massive part in Ireland qualifying for the Olympic Games and ran the fourth leg as Ireland finished second at the World relays.
Earlier this year Becker became the first Raheny Shamrock athlete to compete in the European indoor championships.
The very best wishes to Sophie ahead of the games, we’ll be watching and cheering loudly.
