Another great day in the club’s history in Kilkenny as three gold, one silver and two bronze medals were captured at the Leinster junior and novice championships in Kilkenny.
Gavin Eccles took silver in the men’s novice championship and was just 19 seconds off gold medallist Pierre Murchan of Dublin City Harriers.
Eccles with Robert Frewen (13th), Dylan O’Brien (16th) and David Kirwin (21st) took gold with 52 points well clear of Ratoath 74 points and Drogheda & District 78th.
Also running very well were Ian McConkey (37th), Souvik Ghosh (114th) and David Keoghan (115th).

Aisling Ahern took bronze in the women’s novice race and was just seven seconds off Sli Cualann’s Sile O’Byrne in second place. The race was won by St. Senan’s Bronagh Kearns.
Ahern’s podium performance led a very impressive Raheny team to gold with 63 points. Susie O’Flynn (16th), Shannon Kelly (20th) and Mairead Roche (24th), a very impressive piece of pack running.
Wicklow outfit Sli Cualann took silver with 66 points and bronze went to Mullingar Harriers took bronze with 72 points.
Also running were Laura Brennan (28th) and Sarah Deneher (29th) producing two very impressive performances showing great pack running.
Adam Condon took bronze in the Leinster junior championship and led the team of Shane Spring (13th), Luke Murphy (16th) and Emmet O’Cleirigh (45th) to gold with 77 points.
The Raheny team was some nine points clear of United Striders with Tullamore Harriers third with 93 points.
A very good day out for the Raheny team onwards and upwards!
