Kate Purcell landed the prestigious Frank Duffy 10 Mile posting 59 minutes 31 seconds in the Phoenix Park.
Annadale’s Caitlyn Harvey took second place in 60:09. Niamh Clifford of Donore Harriers was third in 60:20.
“I’m so thrilled. That’s a PB because I’ve never done a 10 Mile before. I can’t wait to go home and tell my family,” said Purcell who helped Ireland win team bronze at the 2013 World Mountain running championships.
“I’ve run one marathon and a lot of half’s but a 10 mile never before fit into my schedule, so it’s been a great experience and a great stepping stone for next month’s half-marathon” added Purcell.
