The indoor season continued a pace over the weekend with both the AAI Games and the University indoor championships (IUAA).
On Sunday, Niamh Kearney took second place in the 1500m at the AAI indoor games posting 4:25.15. The race was won by Ellie Hartnett in 4:24.79.
Kieran Kelly took sixth place over 3000 metres posting 8:19.97. This race was won by James Edgar in 8:09.02.
On Saturday, Mark Smyth set a new IUAA indoor 200m record of 21.02 seconds at the national indoor arena. Mark was representing DCU. UCD’ Toluwabori Akinola was second in 21.98 seconds.
Michael Farrelly took bronze in the 60 metres posting 6.95 seconds.
Tara Meier took bronze over 60m hurdles clocking 9.10 seconds. While Kim O’Hare took triple-jump silver with a best of 10.78 metres.
While Charlotte Wingfield posted 7.65 seconds for 60m when guesting at the Welsh Championships.
