PBs Galore At National Juvenile Indoors

It was a weekend of success yet again for our juveniles in Athlone at the National Indoor Champs bringing the indoor season to a close.

11 athletes competed in club colours over both days, most coming away with personal bests in their chosen events.

Two medals made their way to Raheny. Jack Dowley U16 jumped a PB of 11.06m in the triple jump to win gold.

Davyd Konovalov raced a superb PB of 23.84 seconds to win his heat and gain a place in the final of the 200m where he went on to win bronze. Konovalov also placed sixth in the 60m with another PB of 7.39 seconds.

In the u14 60m Ariana Butler ran a PB of 8.25 seconds in the final to place sixth. In the U15 60m Rachel Afari raced a PB in the heats of 8.07 seconds and went onto take sixth place in her final.

In the U18 Abena Afari raced into both the 60m and 200m finals smashing her PBs and narrowly missing a medal in the 60m. In the U17 Isabel Twomey ran two superb PBs in the 60m and 200m just outside finals qualification
U12 Anna Sheehan again ran a PB in her heat of the 60m.

Siomha Magee placed seventh in her 1500m and 800m finals. Jamie Whelan raced bravely in the u18 1500m. Fionn Burke raced well in a stacked U18 200m heats as did Lara Seebere in the U19 60m.

In the field Cillian Ryan represented us well in the U12 Long Jump and Hannah Keogh jumped a fantastic PB of 1.35m to claim seventh in the u13 high jump.
