The Masters Medals Collection

The club’s masters athletes produced four gold, two silver and one bronze at the national masters track & final championship on Saturday in Tullamore.

David Moore landed two gold and one silver with a very strong performance in the M45. Moore threw the shot 6.90m for gold. Also claiming gold in the hammer with a distance of 16.43m

While Moore claimed discus silver with a best of 19.15m.

Eugene Byrne took M65 100 and 200 gold. Eugene posted 13.41 seconds over 100 metres and 28.56 seconds over 200. Eugene was a star in the 1980’s before emigrating to the USA.

While Zoe Quinn took W45 1500m silver in 5:04.75. Whereas, Ciaran O’Coigligh took M70 bronze over 400m posting 84.37 seconds.

There were fourth place finishes for Martin Kerrigan M60 100m in 14.05 and Paul Curtayne M50 high jump, jumping 1.35 metres. While Ciaran O’Coigligh was fourth in the M70 100m in 16.85.

O’Coigligh also finished fifth in the M70 400m in 36.69. Niall Power took M50 400m fifth in 65.62 and seventh in the M50 1500m in 2:22.00.

There was sixth place finishes for Sharon Keilthy in the W40 1500m in 5:51.56 and Martin Kerrigan in the M60 200m in 30.01 seconds. While Paul Curtayne was eighth in the M50 800m in 2:36.30.
