Clohisey Claims Dublin Title at Frank Duffy 10

Mick Clohisey took second place at the Frank Duffy 10 Mile in the Phoenix Park on Saturday.

Clohisey clocked 52 minutes 59 seconds with Waterford’s David Glynn winning out in 52:38.

The Frank Duffy 10 doubles as the Dublin 10 mile championship, meaning Clohisey claimed the Dublin championship.

Clohisey was followed home by Darrell Reamsbottom 63:36, John Clohisey 64:25, Fiona Stack 65:50, Michael Kehoe 66:59, Stephen McDonnell 70:34, Hannah Craddock 72:13, Niall Diffley 72:49.

On Sunday at the St. Cocas 10 Mile, Stephen Fay took third place in 52:52. Efrem Gidey of Clonliffe won out in 47.11 with Martin Hoare of Celbridge second in 52.28.

Fay was followed home by Mark Kirwan 54:26, Graham Ahearne 56:14, Ronan Wogan 56:33, Eibhin Eviston 72:28, Angela Charlton 86:14, Gerard Fay 88:52 and Niall Buckley 1:59:38.

The men’s team of Fay, Kirwan, Ahearne and Wogan won the team race with 34 points well clear of Drogheda & District with 72 points.

Earlier in the week, On Thursday, Ian Conroy won the Man O War 7k in 23:24. Conroy was well clear of Skerries Ronan Dunphy who took second place in 24:55.

Carmel Ward won the women’s race in 28:14. Also running were, Turlough Conway 26:22, Patrick Conroy 29:20, Caitriona Costello 33:25, Greg O’Beirne 34:27, Gerard Fay  36:03 and Angela Charlton 36:15.

On Wednesday Ger Fay posted 24:07 in the Run the Racecourse Navan 5km. On Friday Francesco Petroni was first Raheny athlete home at Rathkenny 5km in 18:34 followed by Brian McWeeney 20:20 and Gerard Fay 26:49.
