Weekend Road Racing Round-up

Cillian O’Leary took fourth place at the Duleek 5k on Sunday. O’Leary posting 16 minutes 21 seconds to finish fourth and second O/40. Kevin Donagher of Rathfarnham WSAF won out in 15 minutes 50 seconds. Also running were Seamus O’Malley 17:23, Orla Gilheaney 21:58, Siobhan McArdle 23:39 and Gerard Fay 26:25. Becker Gets World Indoor Call-Up

Sophie Becker has been named on the Ireland 4x400m relay team for the World Indoor championship in Glasgow next month. Becker is part of the women’s 4x400m relay with Sharlene Mawdsley (Newport), Phil Healy (Bandon), Roisin Harrison (Emerald), Rachel McCann (North Down) and Lauren Cadden (Sligo). Silver lights the way at National Indoor Championship

It was a shining silver lining as Raheny Shamrock athletes claimed four silver and one bronze at the national indoor championships. Niamh Kearney, Sophie Becker, Mark Smyth, Colm Bourke and Brandon Arrey all stood on the medal podium over the championship weekend.
