Fogarty And Becker Claim National Titles
Niamh Fogarty and Sophie Becker landed gold at day two of the national senior track and field championships. While there was silver for Brian Fay with Michael Farrelly just outside the medals. Fogarty secured the club’s 110th national senior gold medal when winning the discus. Fogarty’s first effort of 55.08m secured gold. Zoe Quinn won the ladies race at Sunday’s Innercity 5km in 19:14. Quinn was followed home by Orla Gilheaney 22:05 and Mary Lynch 24:08. On Friday Stephen Sharpe clocked 16 minutes 39 seconds at the Carlingford 5km. Sharpe was followed home by Kate Crowley 17:33 and Maria Dolan 19:53.
