Brian Fay claimed the NCAA West Regional men’s cross-country championship on Friday continuing his excellent 2022. The All-American Fay, competing for Washington State ran a 28:17 for the 10,000-meters course at Chambers Bay at University Place. The top two women’s and men’s teams claimed a spot in the NCAA championship next weekend in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Washington was third in both races. Full report via the Seattle Times.
Raheny Shamrock athletes landed a medal haul at the British & Irish masters cross country held in Santry Demesne on November 12. Annette Kealy continued her winning ways claiming the over-50 title and leading the Irish team home to gold. The team of Kealy, Breda Gaffney and Carmel Crowley had 12 points to spare on England. The 2022-23 Winter league begins on Wednesday November 30. There are two rounds before Christmas with round one on November 30 over three miles. The second round two week’s later on December 14 is over two miles. The series resumes in 2023 with a three mile race on Wednesday January four. All races begin at 8pm.
