Favors Gets World Championship Call-Up

There was brilliant news this morning as Eric Favors has received selection to the World Championships in Oregon next week. Favors who has preformed exceptionally this season in the shot put received a place on the world qualifying system having been ranked 37h in the World ranking this year. Favors received 70 points on the ranking system when throwing 20.05 metre’s at Music City Track Carnival Festival, Vanderbilt Track, Nashville…

Sanctuary Runners Collection

Raheny Shamrock are proud to support a collection of running shoes for Sanctuary runners. The Sanctuary Runners enable Irish residents to run alongside and in solidarity with asylum seekers and refugees in Direct Provision thereby fostering friendship, positivity and respect while bringing greater awareness to the migration system. A large box is located in the Raheny Shamrock clubhouse. We ask anyone with wearable running shoes to please donate if possible.

Mark Smyth Sets New Club Record

Mark Smyth shattered his club 200 metre record when finishing third at the Cork City Sports on Tuesday night. Smyth posted 20.89 seconds in race two of the 200 metres to finish third in a new personal best and club record. The race was won by South Africa’s Sinesipho Dambile in 20.56 with Ian Kerr of Baham’s second in 20.65 seconds.

Lord Mayor Series Rd 5 Results

A juvenile invasion on round five with Jamie Whelan claiming the race and three juvenile’s in the first four. Sarah Quigley swapped the entries for the racing and claimed the women’s title.
