Leinster Schools Sprint Double for Smyth

Mark Smyth landed the 100/200 double at the Leinster Schools track and field championships in Morton Stadium on Saturday. Smyth broke the tape in the 100 metres in 10.97, two tenths of a second ahead of David McDonnell of CBS Wexford. Brian Fay landed the Leinster Schools Senior Boys 2,000 metre steeplechase on a balmy afternoon in Morton Stadium. Mick Clohisey was just piped for the Terenure Five mile title as Peter Brandon-Somba winning out by just two seconds.
