All-Ireland Schools Cross-Country Success
There was great success for Raheny athletes at the All-Ireland Schools cross country championship on Saturday. The St. Paul’s College Raheny junior boys team took silver. The team included three shamrock’s Conrad Latham, Odhran Fidegon and Donagh Kirwan. The team clocked 138 points and were just seven points behind gold medallist’s CBS Naas. Fay Competes In NCAA
Brian Fay rounded out his NCAA indoor season finishing eighth in the mile and 15th in the 3,000 metres. Fay clocked 4:05.70 in the mile to take eighth place. The race was won by Fay’s team-mate Luke Houser in 4:03.33. Fay was less than two seconds off bronze. In the 3,000m, Fay clocked 8:17.60, Fouad Messaoudi took gold in this one in 7:48.10. Eric Favors Sets New National Record
Eric Favors set a new national of 20.66 metres to claim fifth place in the men’s shot put at the European throws cup in Portugal. Favours five attempts all landed over the 19.80-meter mark with three landing over the 20m mark. The throw was an improvement on Favors national outdoor record of 20.50m set in August 2022.
