Brian Fay set a new 3,000m club steeplechase record of 8:33.93 when he won out at the Manchester invitational meet on Thursday night. Fay had some six seconds to spare on Britain’s Daniel Jarvis with Matthew Hughes of Canada in third place clocking 8:45.01. Fay who ran in the European indoor championships in March, is looking likely to have a blistering summer.
Comerford Clocks Tokyo 2020 Qualifying Time
Orla Comerford clocked the qualifying time for the Tokyo Paralympic Games at the City of Lisburn meet last Saturday when she clocked 12.65 seconds to win the 100m B race. 2 years out but she hasn’t missed a beat!!! Smyth Sets New Club 100 Metres Record
Mark Smyth set a new club 100 metre record of 10.58 seconds when he won out at the Athletics Ireland micro meet at CIT today. Smyth improved his club record by point 02 seconds. In race two Smyth finished second in 10.60 seconds, just point 01 second behind Stephen Gaffney. Elsewhere Michael Farrelly took third place in the 200m in 21.77 seconds, the race was won by Robert McDonnell Galway…
