Sophie Becker, Niamh Fogarty, Brian Fay, Eric Favors and Michael Farrelly have all been named on the Irish team for the European team championships. It is a first senior international call-up for Farrelly as he is named in the 4x100m squad. Orla Comerford set a new personal best of 11.87 seconds to win the para-women’s 100m at the Bislett Games. The famous Bislett Games is one of the meets which incorporates Para athletics events with Comerford taking victory in 11.87 seconds into a 0.7 m/s headwind. Becker Wins In Czechia
Sophie Becker claimed a very comfortable win over 400m at the Kladno Házi a Kladenské memorial in Czechia on Tuesday night. Becker posted 51.83 seconds for victory. Eva Santidrián of Spain took second place in 52.38 seconds.
